A Rob Roy is a cocktail similar to a Manhattan. The drink is named for the Scottish folk hero Robert Roy MacGregor. The Rob Roy is made with Scotch whisky, the Manhattan is made with any other whiskey.
Serve: Straight up, or on the rocks in a cocktail glass
Garnish: maraschino cherry
Ingredients:
1.5 oz Scotch whiskey
1.5 tsp. Sweet vermouth
Dash Angostura bitters
Prep:
Stirred over ice, strained into a chilled glass, garnished, and served straight up, or mixed in rocks glass, filled with ice.
